Welcome to East Mayo AC
Located in Charlestown, East Mayo AC was founded in 2019 with the principal aim of providing athletics opportunities in a safe, fun and inclusive environment for all ages and abilities.
We place a strong emphasis on community and have been extremely active over the past 5 years, establishing our club as one of the main sporting pillars in the community whilst also creating strong relationships with the other sporting clubs and community groups in East Mayo.
Our club is proud to be affiliated with Athletics Ireland and Special Olympics Ireland.
Our committee, volunteer coaches and athletes have all worked hard over the past five years to build a dynamic and reputable club. It is their enthusiasm, energy and commitment that has allowed our club to grow so quickly.
With over 250 members we cater for all. Children from the age of 5 to 10 start out in our Little Athletics programme and then from 10 upwards in our Juvenile Athletics programmes with track and field and cross country training. We also have a well established Adult running group with various challenges and initiatives provided each year. Our Special Olympics programme, has members from all over County Mayo and Sligo and caters for children aged 4-18 with special needs.
In Spring 2025 work will commence on our 6 lane floodlit 200m running track, with a 3g astro in the centre, long jump, throwing area and new cross country training layout. Find out more about this project and how you can help by following this link for more details.
