Sponsor a Metre Of Track

East Mayo AC and East Mayo Special Olympics Club are pleased to launch our fundraiser to part finance the construction of our Athletics Track. In return for a donation of €300, you will be assigned a metre of the track and your name will be displayed on signage at the facility. Signage will be a visible and permanent feature at the facility to acknowledge the contribution of those that helped realise this development.

If you are a business owner please click here.

You can sponsor a metre of track here: https://east-mayo-athletic-club.sumupstore.com/

Also we are asking that if you purchase this as an individual, that you also sign for us the tax relief on your generous donation. This is also a significant contribution to the club at no additional cost to you e.g. You make a donation to us of €300, you then complete the tax relief form and we can then claim up to a further €200 on your donation from Revenue. Please see further information below on how this works

East Mayo AC – Tax Relief on Donations – How it Works?

Irish Tax Legislation provides for sporting bodies to reclaim tax from The Revenue Commissioners on behalf of the donor. For PAYE workers, who contribute a minimum of €250 per annum, this contribution is paid from after-tax income and it is this tax payment that is reclaimed by the club.

It costs the donor nothing extra but provides a huge benefit to the club.

East Mayo AC CLG has been recognised by the Revenue Commissioners as an approved sports body and the Development Works have been accepted as an Approved Project.

How it works:

An individual for this purpose means:

  • A person who pays tax under the Pay As You Earn (PAYE) system only

  • And is NOT jointly assessed with a spouse or civil partner that pays tax under self-assessment

You cannot claim the tax relief if an individual pays tax under PAYE and is jointly assessed with a spouse or civil partner paying tax under self-assessment.

Examples of how the rebate scheme works:
PAYE Individual

Example: Donation of €300 to East Mayo AC CLG in any tax year

Scenario 1: If in 2024, the individual paid tax at the standard rate of 20%, the donation of €300 is 80% of the total donation.

So for your €300 donation the club will actually receive €375 in total

Scenario 2: If in 2024, the individual paid tax at the higher rate of 40%, this means that the donation of €300 is 60% of the total donation.

So for your €300 donation, the club will actually receive €500 in total.

A club officer will assist you with completing the 1-page form.
