About the Track

East Mayo AC and East Mayo Special Olympics Club are delighted to announce the development of its new purpose built athletics track and astro, consisting of a 200 metre, six- lane floodlit track and a 3g astro (52m x 32m) centre, long-jump, throwing area and cross country training course.

The development is described as a major coup for our community and members and a major boost for a new generation of athletes within a dedicated facility.

This €400,000 investment in an athletics hub will undoubtedly attract more participants, foster local talent and signal a turning point in athletics within our community. Our committee and volunteers, who all share a keen ambition, a love for athletics and desire to promote fitness and wellbeing are building a legacy.

The investment in East Mayo AC and East Mayo Special Olympics will transform athletics for our current members and the stars of the future. We want to ensure that our facilities are second to none and that they will encourage more people of all ages and abilities to participate in sport.

The track will be situated behind St. Attracta’s National School, in close proximity to St. Joseph’s Community School, the local swimming pool and the Community Walkway. We are extremely grateful to Fr. Johnston, Brian McDermott (Principal of St. Attracta’s) and indeed their Board of Management for their support to date.

How can you help?
